Chrome login keyring

Recently I upgraded one of my computers to Slackware64 -current and installed Chrome 83.0.4103.106 (Official Build) using the SlackBuild in /extra. I am not signed in with my Google account in this browser and every time I start it I am presented with a message about authentication, which is annoying.

Speeding up Chrome

Recently, I’ve noticed that somehow browsing becomes more and more sluggish under Linux. I am using Chromium, from AlienBob. At the same time, using Chrome in Windows scrolls web-pages, such as Imgur or Reddit, much better. I finally googled a bit and it seems I found the solution.

uBlock Origin

I was never too happy with the different web browser Ad Blockers, but I was too busy to actively start searching for different options. There was a discussion on LQ about browsers, where uBlock Origin was discussed. So, I decided to give it a try.

Old Chrome look

Recently, the look of Google Chrome has been redesigned. I do not really like it, as it takes more space than before, which matters on my 1366×768 laptop screen. Also, I do hate changes for the sake of the change itself. I googled a bit and came upon this solution.

Chrome broken fonts

I recently upgraded to Google Chrome 60.0.3112, using the script in Slackware 14.2 /extra. I immediatelly noticed a problem with fonts rendering, which affected not only web sites, but the browser itself. The same problem exists in Alien Bob’s Chromium package, version 60.3112.78.
