Chrome support for ftp sites

Whenever I needed to check for new sources, if the tarball was hosted on an ftp site, Chrome would refuse to open it. I searched a bit and it seems Chrome has dropped ftp support by default.

I am using Murrina Gilouche, which has been among my favourite ones for many years. I can’t compile, say Chromium, against GTK2, so I want to make at least the colours of Chrome consistent with it.

Chrome login keyring
Posted: 2020-07-10 Filed under: network | Tags: google chrome, identification, password-store 1 CommentRecently I upgraded one of my computers to Slackware64 -current and installed Chrome 83.0.4103.106 (Official Build) using the SlackBuild in /extra. I am not signed in with my Google account in this browser and every time I start it I am presented with a message about authentication, which is annoying.

Speeding up Chrome

I am using Chromium, from AlienBob. At the same time, using Chrome in Windows scrolls web-pages, such as Imgur or Reddit, much better. I finally googled a bit and it seems I found the solution.

uBlock Origin

There was a discussion on LQ about browsers, where uBlock Origin was discussed. So, I decided to give it a try.
