VCMI: quick and automated setup

To play Heroes III with the VCMI engine, the original game data and unofficial addons have to be copied (manually) to their required locations. It is not a big issue, but can be confusing at first.

I decided to make things easier and submitted the following to SBo: vcmi-core, vcmi-resolutions and vcmi-wog. Therefore, to set up Heroes III to be played with the VCMI engine on Slackware, just install the following from SBo:

SDL2
SDL2_ttf
SDL2_mixer
SDL2_image
ffmpeg
fuzzylite
qt5
innoextract
vcmi
vcmi-core
vcmi-resolutions
vcmi-wog

If you have the Complete edition from GOG, automatically extract the original game data in your user’s $HOME:

vcmibuilder --gog /path/to/setup_homm3_complete_2.0.0.16.exe

Convert music to ogg:

vcmibuilder --convertMP3

That’s it! For more detailed explanation and complete files paths, check the previous post about Heroes III.
