VCMI: quick and automated setup

Sound over HDMI cable

Hiding any file or folder in Thunar

Usually, programs store their configuration files in a hidden folder that resides within the user’s $HOME. Such folders start with a dot (.), and are therefore regarded as hidden by the file manager. There are however, programs that do not follow this convention and instead create a regular folder in $HOME to store their settings and system files. Three years for Slackalaxy…

It has been three years :)

Recently I made a major revision of all posts, using code tags and cleaning up the formatting. Most of the downloads now point to Dropbox, too. I changed the theme several times and I apologize for this, I know it’s annoying.

Also, the post count passed 100, this being the 100th!

EDIT (03.06.15): I am still looking for a theme that shows posts as excerpts on the front page and has a clear code highlighting.


Quod Libet: an audio player with a XINE backend

An audio player that can use XINE as its backend is Quod Libet. XINE comes with the default Slackware install, and the package you need specifically is xine-lib. Quod Libet is available at SBo, but the version there is quite outdated at the moment. Read the rest of this entry »
