sboutils 0.01_beta

Therefore I wrote myself several small tools, collectively called sboutils. I will be busy in the following weeks, so I decided to call its current stage as first release candidate 0.01_beta.

GTK2-only Xfce 4.12 desktop

Long story short, I decided to stay with Xfce 4.12 and created my own repository of SlackBuild scripts that aim to build a GTK2-only desktop on -current. I have been running it for over a month on Slackware -current from 17 May 2021. Here’s my announcement in LQ. Of course, this comes with no warranty, so use at your own risk.

Slackalaxy at GitHub

I started testing my SlackBuilds on Slackware 15.0 beta here. At the moment I am making sure sources build, fix broken links, etc. This is all only on x86_64 for now.

Own packages repository

Exactly the same idea as SlackOnly, but made by me for my own use (not public). The tool to use is SlackRepo, which has extensive documentation, that I highly recommend. This post is not meant as a tutorial on how to use SlackRepo. It merely lists the settings I used and the steps I took for my own use.
