Converting sequences by squizz

Geneconv: detect gene conversion

It can also search for gene conversion fragments from outside the alignment. The output results are ranked by P-values and presented in a spreadsheet manner. The data are valuable for bioinformatics studies and papers that deal with evolution.

A sbopkg GUI

It is described as being similar to the Synaptic Package Manager, just simpler. The developer is Gernot Walzl and his web-page contains a lot of interesting stuff, among which the sbopkg_gui can be found.

This makes total of 133 posts, including this one. Recently I switched back to Pilcrow, the theme that I used the longest. I think I will keep it, since I like the simple appearance and the green code highlighting :)
Install an older Google Earth release

One of the features I like is the ability to view photos from almost any location. Unfortunately, the version available at the moment from SBo (7.1.4.1529) has some bug that prevents it from displaying places photos. This did not happen with version 6.2.2.6613. Unfortunatelly, finding an older version of Google Earth turned out to be quite difficult.
