Code formatting in WordPress

When I post the contents of a configuration file or want to write a command, I prefer the text to have the appropriate formatting. Enclosing the text in [cоde][/cоde] tags is a well known feature of WordPress, however I keep forgetting some of the options.

Precompiled third-party packages

Many Slackware users avoid installing unofficial precompiled packages on their systems. I find this understandable, since there has never been (IMHO!) a big and trusted repository for third-party packages. I used to install just a couple of packages provided by AlienBob (like LibreOffice and some of its dictionaries) and then compile everything else from SlackBuilds.org. Read the rest of this entry »


Three years for Slackalaxy…

It has been three years :)

Recently I made a major revision of all posts, using code tags and cleaning up the formatting. Most of the downloads now point to Dropbox, too. I changed the theme several times and I apologize for this, I know it’s annoying.

Also, the post count passed 100, this being the 100th!

EDIT (03.06.15): I am still looking for a theme that shows posts as excerpts on the front page and has a clear code highlighting.


Removing WINE file associations

I keep WINE installed for the sole purpose of playing StarCraft – BroodWar if I happen to be in a nostalgic mood. Annoyingly, WINE tends to “steal” a lot of the file associations from other programs. Read the rest of this entry »
