My laptop has a Windows 7 disk partition, as well as a System and a Lenovo recovery partitions. I do not need these to be shown in my file browser (Thunar) nor in the open/save file dialogs. Read the rest of this entry »

I am using Slackware 14.1, but decided to upgrade MPlayer to the version available in -current (20150425 at the moment). I installed the new dependency libvdpau from SBo, although it can be compiled from the script in -current, too. Similarly, I re-compiled and upgraded electricsheep and xscreensaver to their versions in -current. Read the rest of this entry »

My laptop has an Intel video card and an HDMI port, that I want to use for audio signal output, as well. Unfortunatelly, sound over HDMI does not work out-of-the-box, so I searched for a solution. There are good instructions at the Arch Linux Wiki. Read the rest of this entry »
