Convert the kernel source to no-smp

Back in the days of Slackware 12.2 I used the generic nosmp kernel with my old laptop. I used the patch from /extra/linux-2.6.27.7-nosmp-sdk/ to switch the kernel source from SMP to non-SMP. All went well until the kernel was upgraded with the rest to 2.6.27.31 and the patch stopped working. Read the rest of this entry »

Every now and then I get this ideas to use the amazing Enlightenment17 — a truly beautiful semi desktop environment. The problem with it was that no menu file was provided by default. Recent versions include a menu file, but I still prefer to use the one from before. Read the rest of this entry »


Firefox PDF Viewer plugin

In Slackware64, even if the system is converted to multilib and Adobe Reader runs fine, there will still be problems for it to integrate into Firefox. A 64bit Firefox and 32bit Acrobat apparently do not work nicely together… Read the rest of this entry »
