Own packages repository
Posted: 2018-09-09 Filed under: slackbuilds, system | Tags: package, slackonly, slackrepo, slackware, slapt-get, virtualbox 2 CommentsI decided to try and make my own repository of precompiled packages from SBo. Exactly the same idea as SlackOnly, but made by me for my own use (not public). The tool to use is SlackRepo, which has extensive documentation, that I highly recommend. This post is not meant as a tutorial on how to use SlackRepo. It merely lists the settings I used and the steps I took for my own use.

Blueman RfKill State
Posted: 2018-08-06 Filed under: system | Tags: blueman, bluetooth, lp, netdev, polkit, rfkill 3 CommentsI made a clean install of Slackware64 14.2 on my laptop. Repology
Posted: 2018-07-01 Filed under: misc, slackbuilds | Tags: package, Repology 1 CommentAs a maintainer at SlackBuilds.org, I try to keep my scripts updated. Normally, I would just go through the list of SlackBuilds that I maintain and check each project’s website for updates. It is time consuming and (worst) really boring. I recently came across a very useful website — Repology, the packaging hub.

Modify Xfce Terminal cursor
Posted: 2018-06-05 Filed under: system | Tags: blink, cursor, terminal, terminalrc, underline, xfce Leave a commentI’ve always liked to have my terminal cursor as a blinking underline. This feature is present for the new Xfce Terminal that ships with Slackware -current. Unfortunately it cannot be enabled from the preferences of Xfce Terminal in Slackware 14.2. It is, however, possible to set it by modifying the config file of the program.
