HP LaserJet P1005 and foo2zjs

Recently, I had to connect my old HP LaserJet P1005 printer to my CRUX 3.6.1 box. I’ve had it for over 10 years, and I remember that on Slackware, it did not work out of the box. Instead, I had to use the drivers provided by foo2zjs. So, I decided to install them again.

Customised xterm

Although I’ve always had xterm installed, I rarely used it. Once upon a time it was the default terminal in Xfce, and it opens by default by some programs, but that’s all. I decided to have it polished a bit and customise the colours, font and cursor.

Tango 48×48

I decided to modify a bit the Tango icon theme, similarly to what I did for GNOME Colors. There, the problem was that some programs like Meld, would not display 48×48 sized icons if these were not available as PNG. I like Tango and wanted to have it working properly with no missing icons.

Touchpad tap

My ThinkPad x230 is running CRUX, with packages installed from my own custom repository. Things seem to work just fine, however, the touchpad did not behave nicely out-of-the-box, as was the case with Slackware. Tapping did not work, I had to press instead.

GNOME Colors 48×48

My favourite icon theme is the GNOME Colors. I’ve been using it on CRUX 3.6.1 with Xfce 4.12 for over a month and I noticed some issues. Certain programs would not display some 48×48 sized icons. So, I tried to find a solution.
