Use local time

I dual-boot Linux and Windows. I want to make Linux use the local time from the BIOS, because this is what Windows uses. I searched around and all I found were tutorials for systemd. This is useless for CRUX so I resorted to reading the manual…

Until we meet again, Slackware

It seems I have come to the point where I no longer find Slackware fit for me. This post is not intended as some “I’m leaving Slackware! Farewell!” drama, that you may find at LQ. I believe no one cares about what I choose to use. I just feel that if I am going to give up maintenance of my SlackBuilds, I should at least provide some reasoning. Also, I am sad it all came to this and just want to vent. I guess my own blog is the right place.

Own ports and packages repos for CRUX

I’ve been using CRUX as my main system for couple of months now. My PC has an nice CPU and lots of RAM, so compiling stuff on it is not a problem. This is not the case with my old ThinkPad x230, though… So, I want to turn the packages created on my PC, into a packages repository for the laptop, running the same distro.

GNOME Colors 48×48

My favourite icon theme is the GNOME Colors. I’ve been using it on CRUX 3.6.1 with Xfce 4.12 for over a month and I noticed some issues. Certain programs would not display some 48×48 sized icons. So, I tried to find a solution.

Xfce multilevel menu

I want to organize my Xfce menus better. For example, I have a lot of entries in the “Education” category, to the point that the menu became scrollable in order to accommodate them all. What I want to do is group some of the menu entries into separate sub-menus that still reside under “Education”. I did not find clear instructions, so what I will describe is based on inspecting the sub-menus created by Wine, as well as trial and error.
