Touchpad tap

My ThinkPad x230 is running CRUX, with packages installed from my own custom repository. Things seem to work just fine, however, the touchpad did not behave nicely out-of-the-box, as was the case with Slackware. Tapping did not work, I had to press instead.

Split text in Inkscape

I have a block of text in Inkscape that represents a single selection. However, I want to split it, making each individual row as a be separate entry, so it can be selected independently. It is actually quite easy to do, I just keep forgetting it.

Deal with missing *.la files on CRUX

Many programs started removing *.la files in the recent years. I will not discuss about them, but from what I have understood it is an obsolete system. This leads to problems, when a program would no longer build since it expects to find *.la files that are no longer there.

I am preparing a figure where I need to label several violin plots. I do not have enough space under the figure to fit everything without looking cluttered. So, I want to make the labels slanted at 45 degrees. How to do it in Inkscape?

Spreadsheet cells’ contents length

I need to compare a list of UniProt identifiers to a database of protein-protein interactions. All IDs in my list are 6 characters in length, while the database I am comparing to has many entries that are longer. I want to clean these up, since nothing from my list will match to them and I also want to speed searches by making the database smaller.
