WPS Office bold fonts problems
Posted: 2024-08-10 Filed under: office, ports, system | Tags: bold, freetype, WPS Office 13 CommentsI use WPS Office for my work and so far have been quite happy with it. However, I noticed that it has some problem with certain fonts, when bold. I am not sure when this started, but apparently it happened after a certain freetype update. So, I decided to look around for a solution.

WPS Office dictionaries collection
Posted: 2023-05-27 Filed under: desktop | Tags: dictionaries, dictionary, lang, language, spellcheck, WPS Office 2 CommentsI have just submitted wps-office-dicts to SBo. The script packages spell check dictionaries for WPS Office. The language files themselves are the LibreOffice Dictionaries project, but adapted for WPS Office, following the instructions of this old post of mine. However, it got me thinking that not only Slackware users may want to have these easy to install, therefore I made a wps-office-dicts repo at my GitHub.

WPS Office v11.* dictionary
Posted: 2021-04-03 Filed under: office | Tags: dictionary, libreoffice, spellcheck, WPS Office 9 CommentsI noticed that an old post of mine about adding dictionaries to WPS Office, has been receiving some attention recently. I quickly checked the links and it seems they are dead, also the file paths listed there no longer apply for WPS Office v11. Therefore, I decided to check how to add dictionaries to version 11.
EDIT (27 May 2023): check this much more recent post of mine, as well as the ready to use dictionaries at GitHub.

WPS Office dictionary
Posted: 2017-10-15 Filed under: office | Tags: dictionary, en_GB, spellcheck, WPS Office 2 CommentsI have been using WPS Office for quite some time now, and I am really not looking back. The default spellcheck that comes with the office is American English (en_US). I wanted to add a spell check in Writer for British English, since this is what I normally use for documents.
NOTE (27 May 2023): check this much more recent post of mine, as well as the ready to use dictionaries at GitHub.
NOTE (03 April 2021): Please, check this newer post for updated howto for WPS Office 11.*!
