Tor browser won’t start

It is not available as a port, so I just downloaded the Linux tarball from the official website, extracted it, and tried to run the program. Nothing. Therefore, I decided to find out what’s wrong and search for a fix.

Managing git

.xprofile settings

However, login managers like lxdm (and I hear this applies to GDM, LightDM, and more…) do not obey any settings I put in, for example, ~/.xinitrc. Therefore, ~/.xprofile seems to be the solution for such graphical login.

EFI and Grub

I disabled secure boot and since there is no legacy mode in the BIOS, I decided that it’s time to install Slackware with EFI. However, after the install was done, ELILO failed to boot the OS. So, I decided to use Grub.

A chroot installation environment
